Residential Care

By their very nature, these homes provide a more intimate and controlled environment catering to less active residents with higher care needs.

About Residential Care

Although the definition and demographics of a Residential Care Home may differ from State to State, they are generally smaller homes located in residential neighborhoods that have been designated to provide non-medical care. They range in size from three to 20 or more residents, but typically consist of six residents with two full time caregivers. These homes are also licensed by the state in which they operate and adhere to the same laws and regulations governing larger assisted living facilities. Though you may be surprised to learn how many of these care homes exist in your own neighborhood, it’s easy to appreciate how convenient it is for many families to have a loved one living right down the street from them.
